One of those moments...

Good Morning..and this will be quick but I wanted to share the moment I just savored...

Although the power to the bedroom clock went out before the alarm went off and I leaped out of bed, shoving Goldens aside to get to a clock to check the actual time-miraculously I was only 10 minutes off of the alarm...anyway I do not enjoy waking like that (and I slept fitfully as well because of a certain 10 yr old "needing" to sleep with me last night).

So in spite of the way I awoke, I am sitting on the loveseat watching the bus stop, as Willa stands in this damn frigid cold (enough already ok?)...oh! Willa just had a shoe emergency and flagged me down from the bus stop...had to meet her in the driveway with her tennis shoes....and I had one of those moments this morning where I was so stinking grateful about where I am right  this second that it was almost a tearful moment...

Back to the moment...was able to get the older daughter off to school downtown, get Willa up and she got herself dressed and fed while I ran Leah to school, really nothing special except that I was just grateful that I was able to check the bank accounts (nothing really in there but bills are paid, there's money in savings, blah blah blah), make Willa's lunch, call the elementary school to double check whether or not I am attending W's field trip today to St. Kate's...again, nothing out of the ordinary, except that when I said goodbye to Willa and told her that I love her and will see her at St. Kate's at 10, I felt overwhelmed with the gift of being able to do all of these things.

I am just plain grateful and I feel enormously blessed to be able to take care of my family...and although we miss Mark so much when he is gone, I know that doing my job here (taking care of the girls, the house, my school obligations) is part of the deal we have made...and I am so happy we did. The last few years have been really tough and full of transition. However, we are seeing that our decisions and hardwork is paying off. Our family is stronger because of it.
