Besides not having the brain power to finish my pending assignments...which I need to do because I need to post them by this evening...these are some things I have been thinking about.
1. I just read my friend, Chicken Mama's last couple of blog posts, and she is suffering with a winter cold (which are worse? Summer colds or winter colds?) and she was going through some of the issues with being sick and I couldn't help compare these with my own whining for the day which does not include being sick BUT I am so damn cold this morning and I cannot warm up ...anyway, for example, although she has media she can view when she has a few moments, or when sick, she doesn't have a plethora of tv channels to surf.
I am a tv watcher! And proud of it - I love tv. I love to watch it, complain about it, be completely aghast by it, you name it. In fact just as I was done reading her blog entry, I heard an ad for a Glee marathon on Oxygen this Saturday! Y E S!!!! Although the girls and I have dance and other errands to do, I can envision us catching as much of the marathon as possible...might even get Chinese take-out to make the evening that much more fun.

2. Chicken Mama also has a vast amount of non-negotiable chores to do to keep her house running (off the grid living). And although I am always so impressed (and exhausted) by how she is doing this as a single lady (thanks, Beyonce'), I am not free from lamenting about heading outside my city house to fill all my birdfeeders. This is my one big winter chore because I am the one who wants to see all the birds (love LOVE my Cardinals and Chickadees) flock around my home to find food. But even though I am not sick, not ailing in any way, I can neglect the feeders a little longer so as to avoid the windchills this morning. I mean, it's really cold outside. Brrrrrr...
I don't shovel snow because either my husband does it or my neighbor does it when M is out of town. Even when the plow comes by and pushes icy snow back into my driveway, if it's too cold, the magic snow elves take care of it. Even my mother does more shoveling than I do...that's probably not right but it's how I feel about the cold.
